Dell Scott Debuts New Collection Bursting With Color

After an unexpected downpour Saturday afternoon, Dell Scott Collection gave New York Fashion Week a rainbow of couture with a colorful collection on display on Sunday, September 8. Located in the Tribeca neighborhood, a bright and airy building housed swarms of attendees with impeccable style eager for what was to unfold.

Established in 2015, Scott’s luxury formal wear graced numerous runways in New York, Los Angeles, Paris and Dubai. This season of New York Fashion Week, Scott presented her new and vibrant collection, Prism.

Aiming to evoke emotions and captivate the senses through the use of bold colors, Scott drew the audience in by presenting luxury designs brought to life by its primary pigment. The Prism Collection explored the vibrant hues of the rainbow bursting with deep shades of yellow, green, fuchsia, blue, blush pink and multicolor ombre.

The show started with several models in brilliant shades of yellow and gold. Each model wore their hair in updos or half-up hairstyles accompanied by braids for an elegant and regal look. Scott’s collection consisted of luxury evening wear assembled by silky satins, sequins, chiffon and tulle fabrics. The yellow portion of the show introduced buttery silk pieces that screamed luxury. These gorgeous ensembles also reintroduced fashion lovers like us to the unique and eye-catching scallop neckline.

The collection started rich in color but later weaned into pastel and multi-color palettes. The green designs evoked the essence of elegance, while the fuschia looks brought all the flirt and fun to the runway with dresses adorned in ruffles, floral appliqués and a sequin wide-leg one piece with a deep neckline. Blue brought us back to our center with more structure like knotted waist details and ruching. Pale pink introduced us to our favorite and girliest number with an off-the-shoulder ruffle gown made of tulle.

Whatever hue you choose, Scott made sure to design the perfect piece for a night out or any special occasion. Although the collection was incredibly cohesive in the fabric and neckline choices, each design had a slight difference or alteration that made it individually unique. Each look complimented and accentuated the female form with the use of high slits, deep necklines, one-shoulder blouses, cutouts and ruffle details.

The show concluded with multiple drapey multicolored ombre pieces hosting all shades of the rainbow as if to represent a flowy state of mind, freedom and grace. Scott herself took her victory lap down the runway and spoke words of affirmation and gratitude to the attendees, models and staff who participated in the show.

“Live life to the fullest, that’s what this collection means to me,” said Scott. “Live each and every day like it’s your last and don’t take anything for granted.”

New York Fashion Week presents a plethora of opportunities, events and shows. With all the hustle and bustle between shows, this collection proved to be a lucky charm at the end of the rainbow.
