Color of Fashion Season 4: Tristan Blake

Atlanta-based fashion designer Tristan Blake focuses on details and material. The result is bold and dashing looks fit for a confident and stylish woman seeking stylish ready-to-wear pieces. The Tristan Blake Collection, which is both mysterious yet fun and expressive, will be on display at the season 4 Color of Fashion runway showcase on Saturday, September 28.  

To Blake, fashion is “telling a story without a word.” It’s also embracing the person behind the designer and letting that translate into the clothing. A lot of emotions tied to Blake’s designs are a product of his personality, like his strong yet soft nature, ambition and his vibrant and colorful perspective, especially on fashion. 

“When people see my designs on the runway, I want them to feel inspired,” he said. That feeling is the “essence of Tristan Blake through each piece of clothing in the collection.” 

The opportunity to hit the runway in Denver is exciting for Blake. “This will open my brand to a whole new demographic of customers, clientele, and network,” he said. 

While fashion wasn’t top of mind when he was young, Blake was surrounded by family who embraced the craft. “My grandmother was a seamstress, and my uncle was a costume designer,” he said. Both were inspiring figures to Blake and were catalysts to his career path as a designer. This led to creating and selling prom dresses in high school to now designing for the runway while dressing celebrities like H.E.R, Eva Marcille, Erica LePerla and more. 

“The best part about being a fashion designer and the journey that comes along with it is not only being able to create amazing clothes but also learning and finding your own fashion identity through the process,” said Blake.
