Women’s Wear on Display at Color of Fashion’s Fall Soirée

Well-dressed guests brimming with excitement filled the Clayton Members Club on Friday, August 30 for the Color of Fashion Fall Pre-Show and Soirée. Themed Luxury Never Goes Out of Fashion and as a precursor to the upcoming runway shows for the fourth season of Color of Fashion, women’s wear brand Ameliora showcased a collection of looks with a nod to business casual, wearability and the transformation of a look with accessories.

Color of Fashion is a nonprofit organization that aims to uplift the Denver fashion community by providing diverse representation. Founded by Alicia Myers and Samantha Joseph, Color of Fashion provides opportunities for BIPOC models, hair and makeup artists, designers and more to engage in runway shows. Color of Fashion has made a name for itself in Denver as the team consistently showcases high fashion and treats those involved fairly and equitably. Their models are paid, unlike other runway experiences in Denver and beyond.

“Everything we do is for the people, is for the models, so when you support us, the models get paid,” Joseph told the audience.

Fall is the perfect time to revisit those layering and statement pieces tucked away from the summer heat. This pre-fall show gave attendees all the inspiration needed for a smooth transition.

With looks fit for the working woman on the go, the collection was a throwback to silhouettes that emerged in the early 2000s, including fitted blazers and slim-fitting pants paired with a heel. Hot pinks and royal blues served as the pop of color that brought the collection to life on the runway. The use of accessories like hats, scarves worn as ascots, knee-high boots and layering with outerwear added a modern and elevated touch to each look.

Models graced the dimly lit halls of the members’ club in bright-colored professional attire like button-down shirts, double-breasted blazers and fitted trousers. These looks proved that wearing versus styling your clothes can in fact go a long way. Midway before entering the next portion of their walk, models would stop near the bar to be styled by Cora Aversano who adorned each model with jewelry from Kylie Klein Jewelry, Sultan Elixer and Common Threads Denver, hats by Parker Orms, handbags by VOGELLE, and sunglasses from The Glass House to add more fun and flair to each fit. Although these looks proved to be timeless, the accessories brought to life several timely fashion trends like the viral bow trend. Audience members would then get a second peek at the models as they returned down the runway in their freshly styled ensembles.

The event elevated the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming Color of Fashion Season IV: Mélange. Kicking off with an exclusive dinner at Le French followed by runway showcases at Room and Board and El Jebel along with a marketplace at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver, this year’s Color of Fashion experiences are not to be missed. Collections from OULA, Zayden Drape de Luxe, SHYE, Chronocouture, Tristan Blake, ADDICTEDTOFITS and Monday Blues, Studio. will be on display.
